I came home today and Talore hissed at me!
Today was when they did apartment inspections, which involved checking the smoke detector and installing a carbon monoxide detector, as well as a general check to make sure I hadn’t torn up the apartment (I assume). The notice had requested that any non-friendly animals be contained, and while Talore is friendly but shy (based on the only time I’ve had people over), she has been known to rush the door to the outside. I shut her in the bedroom (with food, water, and a litter box) and put a note on the door saying she was friendly but that I didn’t want to risk her getting out.
Whoever did the inspection apparently made sure she stayed shut in the bedroom, but installed the carbon monoxide detector there. Considering how jumpy Talore was when my smoke detector was chirping (low battery warning) I think she really didn’t like having both detectors tested, especially with her in the room for one of them. I’m guessing that she hissed at me because the previous person had made loud noises at her, but as soon as she saw it was me she jumped off the bed and started rubbing against my legs.
She probably didn’t appreciate it that I almost immediately left to go play Rock Band 3 and left her alone again (though free to roam the entire apartment) for another 7+ hours. I was pretty bad at the keyboard, but I wasn’t too bad at drums (on medium) or some of the vocal parts and by the end of the night I was doing half-decent at bass on hard. I played mostly guitar last time I played guitar hero, and it was obvious that I needed to learn the buttons better before I try to keep up with that on any difficulty above easy, but the bass was alot nicer for learning on.
