Closing was scheduled for today at 2 pm. At 6:55 am (well before I intended to be awake) I got a call from the bank saying that the credit agency would be calling me sometime after 7 to conference call my alternative credit sources for a verbal confirmation that I’d paid all my bills on time for over the last year, and that they had to have that before the bank would get the credit report they needed. At 12:55 pm I got a call from the credit agency, and it was finished before 1:45. Needless to say closing didn’t happen today.
The bank still needs the underwriter to approve the loan for closing (couldn’t be done before morning), then it needs to be submitted to the closing department at the bank (and they’re expected to be rather busy), so the hope is that closing can be tomorrow afternoon, but it’s not something to count on.
